Yes, I had the same situation, but mine was only a few numbers off not just one off like yours.

I'm pretty sure I posted the ticket here on lotterypost years ago. It was from a Florida Fantasy 5 ticket that I just bought using my own version of a quick pic LOL... Basically it's just filling out the BET slip as fast as you can without thinking about the numbers. Back then they had no caps for the Florida Fantasy 5 so I won $720 getting 4 out of 5, but now they have a cap of 555 bucks win..... [ More ]

I bought a CT Cash5 ticket and of the 5 numbers, I had 1, but was one number off from matching the other four. 5 out of 5 pays $100,000.00

Anyone else come close like that?

Here's another CLOSE, BUT NO CIGAR ticket. (I had posted this before)

The winning numbers for MM 12/30/14 were 3-7-44-63-67 MB 12

I had the Megaball on the first line, one of the 5 numbers on the second line and the other four numbers on the fourth line. All 6 numbers on the same ticket, but not on the same line!

Megaball win = $1

4 of 5 (white balls) = $500

Total win for ticket = $501, but if all the numbers were on the same line, it would have been $172,000,000

As someone that matched 5 out of 6 in a 6/49 lotto, 4 if 5 in PB, and several 4 of 5s in Ohio's 5/39 Rolling Cash 5, the thing that came to my mind is the huge difference in payoff by being one number off makes. The lotto win was about $900 compared to a $40 million jackpot. Got $500 on PB because I used Power Play and the RC5 paid $300 compared to a minimum $100,000.

I had 4/5 in mega Millions and the Mega Ball was on the next line!!! It was when the Jackpot was over $500 million in 2015. I won a grand total of $158. I still have a picture of it. Had the mega ball been on the same line it would have been worth 10K. Oh well

I too felt the same way when I would win 4 out of 5 in the Fantasy 5 Florida game, but years later after I gained some experience, I realized that the the difference between getting five numbers correct and the jackpot had a huge gap, meaning the odds were literally in the tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands or so.

I play Illinois' Luck Day Pick 5 (currently $1.5M) almost every day and have never hit 4.

When we're one off on a Pick 3 or Pick 4 straight, we say the same thing. Even though it is on a smaller scale.

I've always felt when you haven't won for a while and you start getting real close, it's a sign that whatever you're doing is working and a winning steak is right around the corner. Stay positive and you'll get that BIG win!!!
