I sure hope that almost all the buildings in San Francisco have been brought up to code. They should be able to survive the big one.

Like almost everywhere else in the U.S. there are more people living and working in San Francisco. Not to mention Los Angeles. It could hit with no warning at any time.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 9/11 we remember New York City, Washington D.C. and Shanksville, PA

The California earthquake of April 18, 1906 ranks as one of the most significant earthquakes of all time.

The frequently quoted value of 700 deaths caused by the earthquake and fire is now believed to underestimate the total loss of life by a factor of 3 or 4. Most of the fatalities occurred in San Francisco.

Being killed by fire must be so very painful. Death must be a welcome release.

Here in California, we recognize that earthquakes bring on fires.

These days we all must be so grateful for first responders. Fire, Police, EMTs.

President Trump will honor the victims and heroes of 9/11 while he visits Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

C-Span, C-Span2, and C-Span 3 will cover the events on Tuesday 9/11/2018.

By some accounts, as many as 300 people died in the Great Chicago Fire that burned from Sunday, October 8, to Tuesday, October 10, 1871. The fire destroyed over 17,000 buildings and left over 100,000 people homeless.
