I say, You cannot make everyone's dreams come true. But I realize that the winner will be approached on a one on one basis. That makes it a bit more difficult to say NO or No thanks. It was divided by $2, not 2 since that's how much a ticket costs.

THINK was saying that if the jackpot was won, the amount would not be enough to buy everyone in the country a ticket.

$570,087,000/$2 per ticket = 285,043,500 tickets

904,900,000 less 37% federal taxes is $570,087,000 before any state and local taxes

570,087,000/$2 = 285,043,500

That means if you win you still couldn't even buy everyone in the U.S. a MegaMillions ticket! According to a quick google search the U.S. population is 326,766,748.

The Jackpot is a lot of money for 1 person or even a handful of people but very little for a lot of people.
