North Carolina Educational Lottery and their B.S. feel good stories have, in the past, done write-ups on people winning lotteries and the ticket was purchased at a Harris Teeter or a Food lion but never have they mentioned if the winning ticket was got from one of those DIY machines or from them going over to the customer service desk and getting the ticket from a lottery terminal. All NCEL cared about was that the winner stopped at the grocery to get eggs and butter for a cake and won $252,000

I agree with Wentworth... in fact there ought to be a Watchdog for Lotteries in General... I recall a story out of Florida where a Store Clerk rigged the Store's Lottery Terminal to spit out winning numbers, then had his Brother-in -law to come by to purchase the ticket...They were subsequently caught and given some serious jail time.. but anytime serious sums of money are to be had, chances are corruption abounds...and since the Government gets a huge chunk of all jackpots, don't look to them t... In Louisiana, they're called WinStation. The lottery ticket kiosk seems to have good tickets for state games such as Easy 5, Lotto that has lower odds. Those kiosks have a tremendous amount of sales, are running 24 hours a day, and they always have a ATM located smack dab next to it, or nearby. The temptation is there to buy a lot of tickets with the flashing lights, and loud noises the machine makes when printing, and dispensing the tickets. The video proves though there are several large jackpot winners who purchased tickets in convenience stores, this large jackpot winner bought his ticket at the airport and from a kiosk. And as Tucker said, if the majority of tickets are purchased in convenience stores, the majority of jackpot winners will be sold by convenience stores.

How could the lottery possibly sneak random winners from different towns? That's a conspiracy theory.

Self-pick or QP, the tickets are purchased in advance, and then the winning numbers are chosen at random from a hopper.

The reason most winners bought their tickets at convenience stores is because most lottery tickets are sold in convenience stores. The odds are exactly the same regardless of where you buy the ticket.

Interesting question, i wonder if they sneak the Random* winners from different towns to make it look random...i also notice the big winning ones go fast and i see people chucking in hundreds at a time i think its Big money people sending people out to clean house otherwise besides all the winners being in the first

batch as`everyone knows how do all the big prizeses get won in the very first week...or do they really

The Illinois Lottery website used to provide a little more information than now, I tracked Little Lotto (now Lucky Day Lotto) for three years, there were quite te a lot of jackpots won at sto0res called the White Hen Pantry which I think were bought out by 7-11.

The White Hen Pantries were in the Chicago are I think.

I think once I saw a winning jackpot ticket bought at a Kroger.

Hello!

Over the years I've heard of several large jackpot winners who purchased tickets in convenience stores but don't recall hearing of big winners who entered by using a supermarket DIY lottery machine. No doubt some have won (for example, I saw a 2012 thread here about a winner in a RI supermarket), but I sometimes wonder if the odds might be better in a convenience stop. Probably a silly question, but am curious to hear what others think.
