Exactly....

Strange that there was a big Pick 4 payout to one winner and then they switched

Not sure whether they thought that Pick 4 machines or computer draw method used was not good enough and decided to go with Indiana numbers.

Lottery Post confirmed that as of July 1 (2017), the Iowa Lottery began using the Daily 3 and Daily 4 draw results from the Indiana Lottery for its Pick 3 and Pick 4 games. This shift eliminated the computerized drawings Iowa conducted in-state for the games for the past three years. Prior to April 16, 2014, used the Illinois Lottery's Pick 3 and Pick 4 drawing results for the games.

I don't know what to think.

Maybe this person just got home from a 20 year vacation and found the ticket between the sofa cushions?

Sorta odd to come in complaining about something that happened so long ago and not at least give us something to go on. Just sounds like a conspiracy theory at this point.

Too many things could have happened to the holder of that ticket. They could have died in an auto accident, or otherwise. Ticket could have blown out the window while they driving.... [ More ]

Nice research!

It (a jackpot winning ticket) was one of two that matched the winning Powerball numbers drawn Sept. 14 for a $103 million jackpot. The other half of the jackpot -- from a ticket sold in Pennsylvania -- was claimed months ago.

Wonder if the PA winner filed a claim after finding out nobody validated the Indiana ticket. If not I'm guessing the other half was distributed among the member states.

Did some research to March 2003.....

INDIANAPOLIS -- In a mighty expensive case of carelessness, a $51.7 million Powerball jackpot has apparently gone unclaimed.

The Hoosier Lottery's offices closed Thursday -- the last day to claim the jackpot -- without anyone showing up with the winning ticket from the Sept. 14 drawing, lottery spokesman Andrew Reed said.

According the Hoosier Lottery annual report, $797,271,245 was paid in prizes and actually more than their 30 year 60.3% average. The report didn't say how much in prizes went unclaimed.

rearea1930, Please do a little more research on how much money players do not claim. They see that they have not won the jackpot and discard their tickets. Those second place one million dollar wins add up. Plus all the rest of the lower tier prizes that are not claimed.

Good Luck to you in Indiana the State that holds the record of most major lottery wins.

The record of the highest amount never claimed was a PB ticket worth $51.2 million in 2002.
