My state lottery used to post the annuity amount on their facebook page, and suggest what you could buy with it.

The Powerball prize is up to 240 million! Then post a listing for a 100,000 sf lodge on 200 acres with an asking price of 230 million along with a suggestion to get your ticket today!

I thought that was very irresponsible of them. You can't buy a property that expensive with that prize, and I thought they were encouraging players to dream bigger dreams than their wallets would... [ More ]

Not 100% sure but believe lottery take home pay means the after tax amount winners get. Doubt how much any of the lottery employees takes home is or should be public record though I believe their gross pay is listed on a lottery's earnings report..

Good point. I also think that the Winner should be able to collect the Winnings in private. They matched all the numbers, they win, just give them their darn check in private.

I do not believe anyone's take home pay or income in general should be discussed for safety reasons and just for the sake of the privacy of the individual.

A YouTube Poster on a video about a Lottery Winner said, I hate that Lottery Officials say stuff like, Michael Smith won 500 million in the Lottery when it's actually more like $330 million in take home Winnings after fees and taxes. They didn't take home 500 million, so it shouldn't be said like that.

Should Lottery Officials announce the take home Winnings, not the ENTIRE amount? :) I think it would make the Lottery Winners less of a target if only the take home pay is announced... [ More ]
