I think what we are really looking at here is consistency. Everyone looking at systems or methods to figure out what numbers to play are looking for something that indicates a winning combination on a some what regular basis. For example if you look at the last 15 games played in any of the 5 number or higher games you will find that if you backtest this in excel all the numbers in the next draw will come out about 34.5 percent of the time. Its not much but its consistent.

I didn't notice the 4/5 winners, but you're right, $207 is the lowest I've ever seen that pay out. It's usually around $350-$400. I've hit 4/5 four times in 3 years.

The website of the Ontario Lottery Corporation says that the TOP combination played from Mar 2020 to Mar 2021 was 1-2-3-4-5-6-7. That combo was played 49,576 times. Hard to believe.

One of our lottery games (Lottario) did have 1-2-3-4-5 come up in 1999. And another lottery game (6/49) had 1-2-3-4 come up twice since 1992.

I ran a scan on our Lottario game, and in ALL past history since 1992, only ONE time was there 5 consecutive numbers, and only 20 times was there 4 consecutive numbers.

No one else would have picked 5 consecutive numbers

What might be ironic here is that all 10 of those people may have thought other people would play 5 consecutive numbers and skipped the 33 because they thought that would give them a better chance of not splitting the jackpot. And in case you didn't notice, the 561 2nd places winners is a lot more than usual, too. I'm guessing that a lot of other people also played 5 of the numbers from 30 to 36 but skipped something other than 33.... [ More ]

Nice topic!

Up until like a year ago I rarely did - and I thought they were a waste to go after- but then I started noticing a trend in the state games I play it happened a lot.

There was one month for my state's SuperCash! game where the month started on 1-2, went all the way through to 38-39, then ended the month on like 2-3.

It made a full circle.

I have not seen such a pattern like that since then, but still the pairs hit a lot.

My problem is picking the pairs - hard for me to... [ More ]

The reason I ask is that the Ca Fantasy5 was 390k today. The numbers were 31, 32, 34, 35 36. (they missed 33)

TEN people won $39k each.....

A few years back the numbers were 14, 15, 16, 17 18 (iirc)

That time 29 people shared about $65k.. You just know each one of those 29 was thinking No one else would have picked 5 consecutive numbers .. then cursed up a storm when they realized they were getting about $2k....
