If I won the big lottery i would buy a BIG Mac, and a very big Milkshake and a small fries. (Have to watch the carbs.)

After that I would buy like all of Hunter Bidens art, because he deserves the money and because I would hate to miss out on the deep hidden meanings in his art that explain his deep philosophy of life and cheese.

After that I would build a spaceship, because earth is going bonkers.

I have an acquaintance who is self made and uses a family office to watch over and give advice on every facet of their life, this would include real estate, investments, charitable foundation, vacations, estate planning just to name a few.

if I was ever fortunate enough to amass a +$50 million fortune I would seek out the same thing.

A Castle to me seems STUPID to me, I agree. MOST People have only about FIVE People living in their house. Two Parents and three children. Growing up, it was me, my two Parents, and my two Sisters living in the house. MANY houses are like this. A Castle makes zero cents(Sense, LMAO, I love puns! :D) in MOST People's living arrangements. If you win big you can purchase a dream house or a gas guzzler like a Ferrari because I doubt you would be concerned the price of gas. I would draw the line on a castle, private Gulfstream jet or a super yacht .

For me personally, wining a large amount of money means freedom.

Winning the lottery can do a lot to change your life, but it can't stop you from being a loser and that guy was very obviously a loser.

How much money you need to retire depends on a lot of things, but AFAIC if you don't take home enough to retire then you didn't win a big lottery. If you don't need income from a job but still feel that you need a job you may not be a loser but I'd say you've got issues... [ More ]

Guess that would depend on if you were talking immediately after I won or after I collected the big win.

Before Aspect:

Silence is golden. Period

Get new cell phones/cell #s, computers email addresses.

Assemble representatives - Attys, tax accountants, investment specialists,healthcare

Tell nobody(spouse exception - of course) Not on social media so that's a non factor

Get 1-2 weeks of vacation approved from work just before the estimated collection date. Use any sick leave,... [ More ]

1) If you quit your job, leave on good terms.

2) If you win big, don't tell the whole world.

3) Don't spend it all at once.

4) If you ignore #2 #3, you better hope you did #1.

From time to time I'd go eat in 2 michelin stars restaurants. Maybe try some 3 stars ... I'd do a big tour in France and enjoy the food. I'd have espressos in Italia and pa lla with turbot in Espana. ... salmon in Sweden? Hering in Hamburg? Cheese in A'dam? ... Cheesepie in Manhattan

It's an age old question regarding the Lottery. put Big, at the last second because I know there might be smart alecks who might answer something like, I bought a scratch off ticket for $2, and won $5, and took that $5 and bought a fast food meal with it! LMAO! :D
