With it now being a week since they started the 3rd PB draw I have adjusted my total spending on various games... downwards, by a little over 25%, altho I'm still playing the same four games.

I remember when pb would increase quickly once it hit 200 mil, now it is increasing real slow. 11 million added since Monday is real low for such a high jackpot. I think they turned a lot of people off by adding a draw. Our company pool did pb for six years and have switched to mm because of their greed. I wonder how many other office pools have done the same.

USAMega shows $304/$222.2 cash. Texas Lottery still has the old jackpot amounts.

I just started a job at a Tom Thumb fuel station today and a guy came in to have us check his PB ticket, and the scanner wouldn't say if it was winning ticket or not. This was around 1pm CT.

If Powerball switches to RNG, it will be it's demise as most of us will never buy a ticket again, the likely hood of fraud is just too great for most of us to accept.

They refuse to release till there is public outcry. They also are looking to keep it this way as they look to make it a world jackpot as well as changing over to an all computer drawing for the games.

The PB jackpot for Wednesday is still showing $293M and $214.2 cash. The Texas Lottery website claims $304m and $222.2m cash for the next drawing.

And $7M is still less than half of the recent rollovers. The claim by PB was the 3rd draw would increase the chances of higher payouts... Doesn't seem to be the case this week.

Take a peek at your state lottery. 20M is still a competitive jackpot. Like cottoneyedjoe said, people will continue to play, but I get your argument.

It's just greed. There are enough suckers who will play it every drawing, rain or shine, so that it rolls over from 20 to 40 pretty quickly. The starting jackpot doesn't matter to the people who only play it when the jackpot is north of, say, $300 million, or whatever their personal threshold is.

Keep in mind the last PB draw came in less at 286M instead of 290M as published so the rollover was really more like seven million.

I recall seeing data that suggested ticket sales are back to pre-Covid levels have been for some time, but the starting number rollovers are still low.

then today we have the first Monday PB draw the rollover totally crapped the bed.

The last six rollovers were:

$15M

$15M

$17M

$16M

$16M

$3M... what the hell? I also noticed that although the rollover was only $3M, the after taxes payout (for a no State taxes winner) is around $5M...

Powerball and Megamillio increased ticket price to $2 so they said they are going to increase the starting jackpot from $20million to $40 million as well.

But during the April 2020 pandemic, they said, starting prize will remain the same as previous which is $20 million, ..and they put words from the lawyers bla bla saying, depends on game sales and interest rate ..
