Just a bit of correction, the number 23 has played in the 1st position 16 times since the first time it played on 3/26/2003. That is 0.22% of the drawings, so it is pretty much less likely to play there that lets say numbers 1 to 6.

Tickets starting with 24 has played a total of 7 time since july 15 2001.

But you are right, Quick picks will give you more of these that appear less frequently in drawings. These drawing happen once or twice per year.

There are many reasons why players should avoid playing QP's. Some are obvious, others are very subtle.

Here's a very subtle reason why QP's shouldn't be played: The computer could give you a line of five numbers in Florida Fantasy5 that starts with #23 (or higher than 23).

Go here for QP info - http://www.flalottery.com/fantasy5 click on Top Prize Winner and Retailer Info on the right hand side of the page. Five jackpot winners last night, two were player picks, three were QP's. (2 of those were Free Tickets)

I dont play QP's simply because I dont want to give control to someone other than myself to pick the numbers I play.

I'd also add that in Florida, the QP to Player Pick ratio of jackpot winners is 50/50. In other states its 75% QP vs 25% Player Picks. S... [ More ]

Well I wouldn't say it's less likely to happen. I've never counted quick pick wins vs picked numbers in any given year. But this information is right there on the Florida Lottery page. Go to the Fantasy Five page and look to the right. You will see top prize winners and retailer information. It tells you if the jackpots were QP's or not.

There are a lot of truth to what you are saying. I was actually hammered by last night's drawing, only 3 free tickets from 83 plays. Great example you gave but it happens less frequently and not likely to happen, so I like to go with what is most likely to happen. To add to what you are saying I was actually given a Quick pick with those same three counting numbers( 4, 26, 27, 28, 34), wasn't playing it though, had it voided out.

I don't play daily but I have been getting a QP more often when I do. I agree that the numbers often seem so off BUT there's always a night when the numbers don't make any sense based on the current runs. That is when I'm really hoping my QP will be the winner! The 3 winning tickets from last night were all QP's. It's very unlikely I would have picked a set of numbers like that ones that hit last night (7 20 26 27 28) but they certainly read like QP numbers.

Do you play quick picks or not?

There are two reasons why I do not prefer to buy quick picks, even though I may buy a few. Lets say if I buy 100 tickets I may buy 5 quick picks but for the most part I do not buy quick picks.

Two reasons why I don't buy quick picks are;

If buy quick pick every time I play I will get a set of different numbers and it is as if I am running from my luck. When I consistently play the same sets of numbers it is just a matter of time before my luck finds me... [ More ]
