They do news stories here all the time about people trying to scam the lottery. Eddie Tipton for one. I wouldn't worry one bit about getting banned here because you posted a story about it.

There are people that have been here for over 10 years that are still considered new members . So don't worry about your number of posts. You're good

Thank you for the warm words and vote of confidence! :D On another Website, the Admin, Head Admin at that! Started a Poll Thread asking if I should be banned after I made about 54 posts in two weeks. About 4 extra Votes voted for me to be banned and I was thrown out like yesterday's trash despite doing nothing wrong. Karen you're a good soul. Likable, personable and one of the few who posts daily about the lottery. I couldn't down vote it if I wanted too!

I pretty much chuckled at the idea. People will be people and some, if you give them an inch, they'll take a mile. These two are dunderheads.

Never been an upvote/downvote type. I wanted a like button where posters gave and received likes for their contribution.

I wasn't trying to talk about scamming The Lottery, I was talking more of them trying to get their money back by selling it on the street. But thank you for politely explaining why I got a Downvote and Negative Star for this thread. I was honestly baffled. Thank you for politely clearing it up. Probably not a good idea to start a thread talking about how to scam the lottery on a lottery site.

If its the two guys in Mississippi, I'd think their biggest problem is the false identification.

There's no law against presenting a lottery ticket for payment and according to the story, the ticket was signed and presented for payment.

I've been reduced to searching under the couch cushions for change a time or two, but I don't think I've ever been desperate enough to spend a couple days selling a fake lottery ticket to strangers for a mere hundred dollar profit.

I looked up this story on Google literally a minute ago and the Amount was actually 100,000, not a million and the ticket was only a $5 Winner, not a $30 Winner. It only being $5 is a much better chance of getting someone to buy it from them than $30. Maybe the Random Stranger will be like, LMAO! I know this ticket is clearly a Loser, but I'll give you $5 to be nice. Keep your Winning Ticket! They could actually get lots of money doing it that way. Lots of People have fallen for even more obvious scams, and the ticket DID look like it was a Million dollar Winner to the naked eye. I wish I could find a picture of the actual altered ticket because they REALLY made it look like a real Million dollar Winner...

On a Dumb Ways To Scam The Lottery, video on YouTube, two Crooks glued Their Number, 30 on to REAL number 2. 2 was on top of a 1 Million dollar prize. To the naked eye, it looked like 30 matched a 1 Million dollar prize. The Crooks turned in the ticket to a Lottery Clerk, expecting to get a Claim Form for a Million dollars. They forgot the Barcode would show that this was a losing ticket. The Lottery Clerk had them arrested instead for Attempted Grand Theft.
