I hit 21 as my key the other day in the rolling cash five. Had 21 twenty five times and only managed 3/5 five times and 2/5 fourteen times..Had all five numbers covered but two of them only a couple of times. I was playing for a 222 pattern and 444 hit instead. If I had played for a 444 and used the same for the other two counts...possible jackpot...

My program gives me around a half dozen numbers to choose from as my key. I must then make the final choice myself by looking at the big picture, such as skips, counts and whatever else seems appropriate for the current drawing. I haven't yet figured out a way to write the code into my program that simulates my gut feeling. I think it's more rewarding this way knowing it was me who made the final decision and not the computer.

I do keep the OE data updated daily, but do not use OE in any of my filters. I do check the lines produced by my wheel, and there are usually enough lines of 3 odd / 2 even or 3 even / 2 odd to keep me on the right side of the odds.

The Burnout I am experiencing with those pieces is leading me to want to abandon them, at least when it comes to picking the Numbers that go into the wheel. I use a slightly different approach.

I usually select 13 numbers and put them in a 48 line, 4 if 5 wheel. This is a standard abbreviated wheel, not a key number wheel. I let my program filter out all lines that do not contain my key number, and I end up with 19 lines to play. I usually add one more line at random to make it an even 20 lines to play. Here are some of my results from the past 10 days:

The point of my post was...I should of used the 1st or 2nd ranked 3 counts as one of my keys instead. That's the count I was focusing in on the most. Four of those 3 counts hit. All were better than average frequency. 11 had a statistical advantage as a 4 count from skip line 1. Not going to get into that. But was it enough to make it a key number? Probably not. I've learned my lesson tonight. Ended up hitting 3 of 5 only once and 2/5 11 times. I narrowed this key down to 34 tickets..Even though 1-2-13 and 39 hit..There wasn't a 4 of 4 match from all 91 tickets.

What NOT to do when playing a key number. Don't focus in on playing 3 or 4 of a particular count and use your single key number play from a different count. Key one of the counts that your focusing in on the most and throw in a few different counts with it. Here's what the counts look like for the rolling cash five for me tonight. All information is in the past performances. I do look at the pedigree for young horses, Sire and Dam. If the Dam has had a handful of foals that have raced and are successful. That can lead to some good long shot plays.

Maybe in the Brazil Lottery but here a key number is any number players believe (or hope) will be drawn and that number is usually on all their tickets. In horse racing many betters use a key horse when making exotic wagers. Oh and it's still possible to win secondary prizes when the key number is not drawn.

Many years ago, a co-worker showed me his five Buckeye 5 tickets and he used three key numbers on each ticket. When I saw the drawing results all three of his key number were drawn. When he didn't show up for work that night, I knew he won the $100,000 jackpot. He paired 10 numbers to play with his 3 so the only guarantee he had was matching numbers five times. I would have suggested pairing all the other 34 numbers on 17 lines guaranteeing two 4 number hits but he knew what he was doing!

If you play 5/36 and your key numbers is 18 and you decide to not play delta 1 (adjacent numbers) then choosing 18 means eliminating 17 and 19. That improves your win/cost ratio when right. If you chose 4 odd and 1 even then all the other numbers would be odd numbers only. Other choices could be placing it in the 2nd and 3rd position only. That also increases your payout ratio. Dude, it's simple arithmetic. The more numbers one has to choose from, the lower the percentage that you'll be right in picking the correct key number. That's why you pick 18 numbers for the Megaball. You're so afraid of getting it wrong, you pick 65 to 80% of the numbers. I can picture you at a race track betting the horses. NOT true..it doesn't matter to the MATH how many numberz are in yo Game's Matrix...it will point'em out..

I'm afraid using'em might Shut doown the Lottery ..as it did when I used one for MM 9/3/21's drawing...if their Mainframe can't figure out a way outta payin you?,.. They'll claim Technical Difficulties , and halt the drawing ... AS THEY DID.

a key number, and a fixed number, is the first number or the first pair of numbers, ie the beginning, if you hit it's in, if you miss it, it's out, simple like that

The larger the odds of a game, the harder it is to pick a key number, because the larger odds games offer a larger distribution of long skips. IMHO. However not impossible. Of course you dont have to play the long skips.

The patterns determine which number to use as power number, and two people may see raw data in different ways.

Some people are more intuitive than others. Logic will not suffice in the long run.

I played a key number in the rolling cash five the other day. It didn't come in. But I still hit one 3/5 winner. I only play a key if there are a few reasons for it. For example: Skip line 14 for the rolling cash five tonight still had four numbers on it. Using each of those numbers as a key would've made a ton of sense. 39 hit from that line. I had 39 a few times...only managed 2/5 a couple of times.
