I dont buy raffle tickets for three reasons.

1) They are expensive.

2) They are gay.

3) They are easily rigged.

Much more easily rigged than the 2020 election in fact.

Guaranteed one million dollar winners, best odds to win a million dollars (125,000 to 1 in Pennsylvania) and they go lower if tickets don't sell out. What's not to like?

I'm located in Florida and Florida doesn't have a millionaire raffle anymore so I cant get them, but Pennsylvania is having their annual raffle in early January. Even though I moved to Florida, I'm still in a lottery pool with former work colleagues from New York State (they're close to the PA border) and the pool always buys... [ More ]

My state(LA) lottery has had raffles in the past with a limited number of tickets sold for a drawing and I have played. It wasn't a bad game. They haven't had one recently though.

Nah, a government raffle ticket would probably say something like,

Drawing for this raffle is November 1, 2023, or April 30, 2024, or whenever we sell enough tickets to pay the $100 prize. This raffle may be cancelled at any time without notification.

Please bring your own tow truck if you win the second prize 2001 Grand Cherokee. We do not guarantee it runs, but it has four tires.
