If your Canadian keno starts payouts at 6/10 then you need 11/20 and better or ... for a payout, playing two ten spots or 20 numbers.

Generally best have half or more of the played numbers correct.

Playing 70 numbers would require to have 35 numbers correct but only 20 are drawn.

You depend more of the specific result.

If one of the prize tiers is a rolling jackpot that could potentially be split among several people, you could take the average of past payouts. Some people omit jackpots from these kinds of calculations as the odds are too astronomical to ever be realized. It's your money, only you can decide the best way to gamble it. Best of luck to you.

Howbout you take the 0.5 million jackpot shared by 2 or more and divide it by 1.25 than divide it by the over 8 million combinations

Most likely to lest likely. There are two ends at keno and All Or Nothing (TX ...).

You get an expected value or cash value:

p(i)*(payout(i)-cost)

where i = score()

You can add columns count * cost or payout, do sums and ratios.

You want to compare similar payouts at the high ends, like 2nd and 3rd price depending of the game. I compared payouts of 100 to 200. The 4+R seems unreachable, the 8/10 seems reachable, both are unlikely to get. I hd 8/10 with keno but couldn't find any l... [ More ]

The simplest mathematical way to compare two or more lottery games is to compute the expected value of the prize and divide that amount by the cost of the ticket for each game you are comparing.

Here's a simple made up example. Game A costs $3 and has two prize levels: Top prize of $250 with chance 1/1000, and lesser prize of $15 with chance 1/12. The expected value of Game A is

Forgot to mention that I used VBA Excel and all was in an older xl file or xlt. This and that stopped working, warnings came, upgrade windows 10 and snip. The file was deleted by windblows and I had a backup. Later it worked again after pasting in a new version. I had to wait years until this was possible. I could use my code for years. I even had my data on a hosting server and could load it with VBA. Blabla and snips through fans!

I played both in the past, and not both the same time. I won on both, but that's not true for everyone.

We now have 6+Reserve / 45 for 1.25 euro / 1 combination.

We have 20 / 70 Keno, pick 10 for the highest jackpot of keno, 1 euro / 1 combination, sold by two combinations.

20/70 is daily and cheaper to play.

6+1/45 is drawn twice a week and more expensive.

Chances and costs versus payouts, I'd go for keno because of the costs in the first place.
