I agree with you CT. MIT and the Australians exposed and exploited holes in the game. And they were able to cover, or find the backers to cover, their play.

I'll even go out on a limb and say that's at least one reason we're seeing more games with the kicker, bonus, mega-balls; those payday ball. The more we catch up to the games, the more they change to stay ahead.

All the Australians and MIT was groups did was pit an end to group play and team play. This also happened when Nevada casinos put in Mega Bucks

progressive slot machines. At first it was a little odd to see the jackpots progress when there was no one in the casino playing those slots but hey were all set up so that if anyone anywhere in the state played one of those machines the jackpot went up.

Especially when it appears you're trying to explain the difference in the taste of oranges and onions. Don't recall you mentioning a guaranteed win or logically pick jackpots but it sure looks like someone is trying to pretend you did. I have no idea about keno. Never played it, never bothered to break it down. Same with All or Nothing. I've glanced it here and there, but never studied it. Don't even know how many combinations there are in either game. But you've answered the question. No need to hazard a guess.

As I said in another thread once a game goes past 40 balls you're dealing with a different animal. Same could be said of any game with larger matrices, bonus ball (or balls) and larger picked groups from the whol... [ More ]

I remember reading that some jackpot winners drank something orange just before playing their tickets.

A couple of times I did a haka in front of a lotto vending machine and got strange looks from people. One was a nurse who just got off work and asked me if I was OK and offered to take me to the hospital.

That has never happened to me but something similar has. One time, my wife and I were buying some scratchers and the clerk tore one of them so she didn't want it so I took it. It won me $25. I never turn down a ticket, even a ticket that was printed in error, I still pay for it and hope it wins.

Put Mirrored sequins all over your pants and shirt. That way the camera will get a reflection of itself. Wear mirrored Sunglasses and a Black Baseball Cap. Buy your tickets before the sun comes up. I've also heard people say building colors can be lucky or unlucky. Or if you buy them at a gas station, the colors of the logo. Supposedly black is unlucky, but green and white are lucky, especially green . Maybe look for a bright green paint job.

That is pretty bad what they did. Hopefully other lotteries won't follow suit.

One thing I'd debated doing was if I did win, set up a phony address in another city and claim it from there. That way, if anyone wants to look for me, they would be looking for me in the wrong place. Whether or not I'll do that if I actually win, who knows, but it might be worth thinking about.

for instance,

Yeah the odd numbers are an ancient Roman thing. I learned about that in Latin class a hundred years ago. It might have originated from always having a spare. Like if objects used every day came in even numbered sets, the spare would make the finally tally an odd number. Think wheels on carts.

I always thought water was lucky, and in the past I tried to buy my tix at stores that had a view of a body of water, or near a fountain in a shopping center. Also if a store is named after a body of water or on a street named after something to do with water, I think that's luckier. Any names with words like river, lake, ocean, brook, waterfall, cascade, fountain, pond, etc.

I used to frequently take road trips to other parts of my state and I'd buy my lottery tickets in other cities as opposed to my hometown just to see if I'd get different results.

If the jackpots get really big, sometimes I'll buy multiple tickets from different stores in my area. Normally, there are a couple of stores I buy from, one near home and one near work but when it gets big, I might buy from other places in addition to those.

Better start using different pens or printers to fill out your playslips! Those boogers are so smart they can trace the ink and who bought it, or the printer that printed the slips!

Me? I had a routine where I would leave the house just after 7PM to get my tickets. That changed when I started tracking the pre-tests which aren't posted until 8:30 or a bit after. I hang black plastic over my window. I put an umbrella over my monitor and keyboard. I cover the camera lens on my laptop.

I wear a wig and dark sunglasses when I buy my tickets, at a store 50 miles from home. I also rent a car, I never drive my car when buying tickets at the store 50 miles from home. I also never ever buy my tickets from the same store each time. I go to a different store each time.

I can't say any more, LO's might catch on to me.

Do you always buy your tickets a certain way or pick your numbers a certain way because of a personal superstitions? Or always avoid certain things when buying your tickets for the same reason?

I'll start -- I have a preference for odd numbers. As in buying an odd number of lines, buying odd dollar amounts, buying them at a place where an odd number of lotto retailers are clustered.
