Are you asking me to run my program to find the distribution of distinct digit counts of combinations in a 6/47 game? You could just ask me politely like a normal person. There is no top secret math involved, it's nothing more than a counting and sorting script. Anyway, here it is

only 2 digits: 6 only 3 digits: 6033 only 4 digits: 217003 only 5 digits: 1669416 only 6 digits: 4068124 only 7 digits: 3562459 only 8 digits: 1108548 only 9 digits: 104238 all 10 digits : 1746

More than a thi... [ More ]

I can't tell you now. I took a code fragment wrote around it and posted the output.

I can surmise it counted or omitted digits, or perhaps didn't clear the count in certain conditions.

But can't check it now since it was a throwaway.

Your count looks right.

G

I never thought to sort combos by number distinct digits appearing in the numbers drawn. Just as a sanity check I ran my own code to count the number of combos that have 2-10 distinct digits in 6/54 and I obtained different counts:

2: 6 3: 8768 4: 372310 5: 3274436 6: 9109961 7: 9226024 8: 3417952 9: 407340 10: 10368

I am not sure how you got 38 different combos that use only two digits. By hand I can only come up with these six:

1, 2, 11, 12, 21, 22 1, 3, 11, 13, 31, 33 1, 4,

I'm going to assume you are referring to the total number of digits drawn. Some call it the ID (individual digits).

You say mega, but use a 6 ball draw which is confusing.

In Mega-millions you can have as little as 2 individual digits such as 1, 11, 12, 21, 22 or all ten as in 19, 23, 45, 68, 70.

In a 6 ball game, you still have a total ID between 2 and 10.

1, 2, 11, 12, 21, 22 and any combination that contains 0 to 9.

7 may be the most common (have to run it to see) b... [ More ]

I noticed in the mega game. sum of digits is always 7, for example: 03-08-16-21-34-41

Each digit counts as one. if we make a wheel of 18 numbers or 17,16,15 numbers. but the combinations produce such that the sum of 7 digits in a row is obtained. So we have reduced the pole rate a lot, right? Can anyone create that software
