get the resources you need.

pay off debt. Help my mom and brother.

I said $50k because I'd like to pay off some debts, spend a little on something nice, and keep some cash liquid for emergencies and so forth. $70k isn't necessarily life changing, but it can be used to put the winner in a good financial position and reduce worries.

I would use the $70K to play the Pick-3 games instead of the Jackpot games. The $70K is enough to turn into $1 Million over a course of 6 months. Pick-3 is one of the few ways a player could match the average winning jackpot of the state's lottery games. Not the PB or MM; but enough to generate a few $1 Million at any given time.

I discarded my vote. After how long I have been playing I have seen stories on here about people winning two or three times so I can see why you did this poll.

As for me, however, I am now playing for more than 100k because I have kicked in enough in the 5 decades I have been playing. I am in on tonights Michigan pot for about 400k. If I actually won I would play for Two more years (depending on the jackpot size) because all the stories I have read about Michigan players winning two or three... [ More ]

I have to admit a couple of things with regard to this poll.

First it's a good/fair question, and I've never thought that far in advance as to how much I'd play after a $70,000 win so I really don't know what I'd do other than I'd probably keep playing like I always have. In my personal financial world, while 70K is a very nice chunk of change, its impact to our current quality of life wont be all that life changing. hello raven62-in the lottery we have all kinds of probabilities against the player, so we have to invert, play to be wrong, have you noticed that making a list or study, leaving out 5% of the bets, and that's where the number is drawn! game and play your mirror

I'm guessing. 10% just sounds like a good number off the top of my head.

I'd have to do an Aaron Rodgers; go dark, figure out how much netting $70,000 impacts my life, consider my wants and needs. And like anyone else, I could find something.

Then there's always the thought of splitting the win with the kids and giving $1,000 bonuses to some friends.

IMO putting money into anything with the hope of return is a form of investment. Loosely speaking, investing in cheese fingers at 20% interest is an investment in maintaining one's muffin top, though not an investment I care to make. The UK Premium Bond Lottery and the former Canadian version were not considered gambling because investers got their total investment back any time they wanted. Doubt anyone can buy a jackpot with even $100 grand, but 10% seems to be about average of how much a lottery player might invest trying to win a second or even third jackpot. Bet lots of player have used smaller winnings to play a more expensive strategy.

Having not thought that far ahead, I'd say unknown, but maybe 10%. And not all at once.

I'd pick and choose my spots meaning likely play more, and in larger amounts.

And if it wasn't working I'd go back to playing less and watching more like I do now.
