Get your point. But...interest rates control the difference between annuity prize and cash value prize.

That's a difference of $53M on the pre-tax $59M on the post-tax payout... So where the hell is that extra $50M+ going??

We're getting fewer winners with smaller prizes...

In August of 2017 a $350M jackpot would have have given the winner $216M before taxes $162M after taxes in California.

That's $0.46 on the dollar take-home.

On 11/27/2023 the PB jackpot is $352M.... with a cash option of $163M before taxes about $103M after taxes in California..

That's $0.29 on the dollar take-home.

I understand their point too, but don't see how that could happen on a multi state level because it would compete with other MUSL and state games. There were over 175 million combinations in the old MM game and players asked for larger jackpots.

Our 4/35 + 1/25 has $225,000 jackpot with a decent secondary prize payouts. And we have Lucky for Life that has a nice intermediate jackpot. Ohio has a nice mix of games with something for about everybody.

We are experiencing a shortage of large winners like we had with the old game.

The purpose of a large money jackpot building game is to get more people to play and by default will not produce more winners.

Many people on here complain about $2 tickets and complain about nobody winning anything and they also complain that they want smaller jackpots and more winners.

Understand your point. I voted sometimes because here in Texas we have the 2-Step game which starts at $200,000 at waaay better odds, and grows until there's a winner. The one downside to the game is it's pari-mutuel, so there can and often is more than one jackpot winner.

So for me, the old MM game would ok with the megaplier until 2-Step grew above $250K.

We are experiencing a shortage of large winners like we had with the old game.

Though it was $1 a ticket, the 5/56 + 1/46 version of MM paid only $250,000 for matching five numbers. Are you experiencing a shortage of large money jackpot building games in Michigan and need another?

FYI, PB has a Monday drawing and would create a which game should I play dilemma but Thursday is open.
