In Texas a pack usually has a guarantee of 50% of the cost of the pack, give or take, so a $10 pack costing $500 is guaranteed to return about $250.

I wouldn't say the outcome is most likely profitable. Possible, yes, not most likely.

I imagine scratch ticket odds are the same in any other state selling lottery tickets, but I haven't researched other states, so I may be wrong.

I have noticed that with most $10.00 denominational scratcher tickets, you do way better by buying the whole book for $500.00

They come in books of 50 tickets, so the outcome is most likely profitable over the $500.00 paid for the book.
