On the PA kiosks, there is a bill acceptor, a laser scanner for checking/cashing winners and another slot for cashing in winners and using bet slips. The laser scanner is used for the QR codes on scratchers, but invariably people jam scratchers into the bet slip slot and gunk up the mechanism. PA lottery tech said he is called to the local Sheetz store at least once a month to clean it.

I've used a lottery vending machine in Colorado but I only play QP. The screen has number buttons on it if the player wishes to choose the numbers. I don't think it will accept play slips but the next time I use one, I'll check it out.

Never encountered this before, put dollar bills in for ticket cost, machine gobbled up the play slip. This machine has gobbled up currency before but a play slip? So I just hit the button for a QP for the same game, first two numbers were the same as those on the play slip.
