I noticed that. They also made another change; they are now showing the win statistics of the NUMBERS WIN4 drawings right after the draw instead of waiting until the next day.

Figuring out your taxes isn't the lottery's job, and they don't know what your taxes would be, anyway. For a cash value of 10 million or more almost all of it will be in the highest federal bracket and the upper NY brackets unless you've got some big deductions and they don't have a clue about your deductions. If you want to know the after-tax value you can easily do it yourself and come reasonably close.... [ More ]

If you want to know the before and after taxes, cash and annuity amounts for MM and PB just click on USA MEGA and then jackpot analysis. Then select your state.

Them putting up the lump sum winnings estimate is honestly what they should have been doing from the get go. Next step/stop if they haven't already is to include the take home winnings after taxes for the lump sum winnings.

Edit. I read your thread incredibly fast at first and thought they put up the lump sum winnings estimate. I reread your thread and saw that they were talking about the cash value of annuity, not the lump sum winnings. It is still nice of them to put up the cash value... [ More ]

I just checked the NY lottery website for the first time in a couple of weeks or so, and they've made a major change. Right on the home page, in the prominent boxes that show the jackpots (for PB, MM, and NY Lotto), and in a font that's not the smallest font on the page, they're showing the actual cash value of the estimated annuity jackpots.
