The MM multiplier is drawn by the terminal when you buy your ticket.

All the multipliers are the same when you buy a multi-line ticket, but you can get a different multiplier for the same drawing if you buy a separate ticket.

It's all good. Again thanks for the info. I was wondering why the bonus ball disappeared on the live drawing. Now I know why. It's because it's computer garbage. And now that I think about it. I do not know if MM x ball is still drawn. Probably not. Beings the game is ran by the same company. It does make me wonder why though. I don't see the point in making the last ball computer draw. Happy New Year and I was glad to share the info, even though I got it wrong.

There are no balls drawn as I said in my post. The PP number is computer generated. Also please forgive the typo of $150,000 ... It's $150,000,000. I blame it all on advanced age, or more accurately, I'm an Old Curmudgeon/Fool.

MUSL added the 10X multiplier to PowerBall on 10/7/2015. According to The Texas Lotto Report ( https:///PB2015Rule.htm ) -

Ya gotta Google Texas Lotto Report due to The LP's software not allowing the full link above to appear! But here's a cut and paste from The TLR -

PowerPlay prizes can be multiplied by 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 times.

They added the 10x to the mix BUT they have the option to announce

I have won twice in the past with the 10x PP. $40 for just the PB and $70 once for 2 WB + PB. I skipped playing Wednesday night when I had picked #26 as one of my PBs and only got credit for it in the PB challenge here.

Stats, As jade pointed out, the PowerPlay numbers are a CGN, that's why there is no televised drawing for them. (Sorry, I knew that but failed to point it out in my initial post) Should've but when you get to be my age........

Although I've no idea where the CGN spits out the PP number, my scientific wilda$$ guess is they do it in Tallahassee. That's where PowerBall drawing are held. (At least they were held in Tallahassee, but Old Fools like me might not be aware that's where they used to... [ More ]

The Powerplay add-on would be more popular if they didn't have that stupid rule that the x10 is not available when the jackpot exceeds $150 million.

The multiplier doesn't apply to the jackpot. Why do they care if people get a x10 on lower prizes?

It should also apply to the second prize of $1 million. The odds of hitting that are so low, the higher payouts on that would add a whopping 8 cents to the expected value of a $1 bet.

The 10X PowerPlay number is removed from play once the advertised jackpot hits $150 million. ($150,000 and down is when it's available)

Also there is a pool of 43 PowerPlay balls that are used to select the PowerPlay number prior to each drawing.

There are 24 2X balls, 13 3X balls, 3 4X balls, 2 5X balls and 1 10X ball (when the JP is $150,000 or less)

That's why you don't see 10X very often, while most drawings are 2X. G5
