When a keno runner came to the table and asked him if he wanted to play again he would give her a stack of blacks, twenty one hundred dollar cheques.

You've got to deal in the real world more than theories and opinions. As I said before when someone on a craps table is raking it in on prop bets there is likely to be another player telling others what 'stupid' bets that player is making. As a ps when Colorado casinos first opened some Vegas dealers went there but most came back to Vegas. In Vegas they'd been making $40 to $100 a day in tips, in Colorado maybe $20.

I worked in casinos in table games for over 20 years, please don't try to tell me about good and bad gamblers. Any game that awards $6M for $2 is ok with me, but coming up with 8 out of 86 sounds like another one of your theories. Does such a game even exist? There are very few players considered to be a feared player, most casino players are considered to be ' came to stay not to play', as in instead of pressing their bets when winning they'll keep making low bets and just grind it out.... [ More ]

Add 32 cents worth of lower prizes, for a total of about $2.57 for a ticket that costs $2.

$6M for a $2 wager when the odds of winning is 1 in almost 300 million is a joke.

$1 million

That's enough for me to live comfortably while continuing to work. Early retirement sounds boring unless it's a massive amount of money, and that brings problems.

I bought tickets for the $2 billion (really $1 billion with the stupid 50% annuity haircut) for Powerball only because it was a player's advantage. It didn't work out because of the massive variance, which I was expecting. But it was fun to imagine what I would do with $600 million after tax.

The starting jackpot... [ More ]

IMHO, Age would also play a part in the decision. At 20-25, I probably would have looked at $100M so I could have shared with many family members that were alive. For me, right now it would be $5-6 Million, is all I need. Since that was not an option, I went with the $10M figure.

There really are no viable ways to protect your identity after your name is published in Florida after 90 days.

Absolutely loved that song.

No doubt you'd have to take steps to protect yourself and your family should you win 10 million. In Florida, players that won $250,000 or more can claim anonymously for 90 days but after 90 days has elapsed your name becomes part of the public record.

Various Florida lawyers websites I've seen explain how to take further legal steps to protect your identity.
