Ok we can disagree. Your counter examples are only for the late draws.

35 consecutive draws for Pick 3 in the Midday/Evening have been singles.

35 consecutive draws for Pick 4 in the Midday/Evening have been singles.

35 consecutive draws for Pick 5 in the Midday/Evening have been singles.

Seems suspicious to me. The more balls you add to a draw for the Pick N games the harder it is to not have a duplicate/repeat number but not for Washington D.C. at the moment.

Originally I thought that the DC Lottery was only picking singles for every single drawing. It's unlikely but possible.

Then you posted a link to the TN Lottery's software glitch where only singles could be drawn (thus, the unwinnable tickets). So I looked at the recent drawings for the DC Lottery and found five counterexamples in just the last four days.

Clearly, this is not a software glitch. They're just random numbers behaving in a random way.

Those are the late draws. The draws in question are the midday and evening draws. There is no late draw for Pick 5.

For the month of April there have only been singles for Washington D.C. in the midday draw, and the evening draw for Pick 3, Pick 4, and Pick 5. It's a big deal if people are purchasing tickets that have no chance of winning. Seems worth investigating to me.

Unlikely this is a software glitch. Presumably they use the same RNG for pick 3, pick 4 and pick 5.

The images below are the current state for all pick 3 and pick 4 games in U.S. and Canada in relation to skip count for doubles. My pick 5 draw history has lapsed so cannot provide the current state.

The first image is for Pick 3. Its still believable.

The 2nd image is for Pick 4. Fairly unbelievable.

At what skip count would you send a email alert to verify the software?

KY it's simple math just multiplying fractions example 5 over 10 times 5 over ten is 25 over 100 which equals 25%. That's just after 7 draws the odds .0002 is 1 in 5000 so keep multiplying and that's how u get the true odds. Flipping a coin is 50/50 way higher than 30% and your still not getting 36 heads in a row.

If you are trying to prove their drawings are not random, you need way more than 16 drawings for a statistical proof.

You also need to know the number of tickets sold for each drawing. I don't see that in what looks to me to be mostly indecipherable gibberish.

Anyone can calculate 0.3^16. It has no value.

It has a small value (1 in 232,305,731.3, or more likely than winning PB or MM with a single ticket) but if there's a 30% chance of something happening it's the 70% chance of not... [ More ]

Yeah I tend to agree. The draws are computer generated.

D.C. Midday Evening draws for Pick 3 have not had a double in a while. Only singles in April. The late draw seems ok.

Randomly drawn numbers have no memory of the previous drawing and then say oh, we need a double this time, it's been too long . They're random.

There are so many possible patterns humans can observe that, given enough drawings, the chances of observing some kind of pattern are guaranteed.

It's like in the Pick 3 when 16 doubles are drawn for the month and 14 of them are on the same drawing. It's crazy but it still happens.

Nothing you can do about it. You can either use it to your advantage or sit it out.

The have played all singles which is 5 different digits Ex 12345 these different digit numbers make up slightly over 30,000 of the possible 100,000 numbers. So odds of getting that unique combination is 30.24% just to be exact. So on average 3/10 draws you should see that. They've drawn all singles 16 times in a row now. Just think like this, say you make a single bet that you have a 30% chance to win and you win that bet 16x in a row.

Working on border of DC-MD I can play both but DC is full of it right now. Where are the quads and Triple Pairs cause what you guys have done is crazzzzyyyyyyy. One in 200 million odds on the pick 5. Please give us customers a chance and play like 66661 or 77771 or 22228, 22229 or a quint please. Cause this is highway robbery 16 draws in a row with a 30% chance of that number landing in a single draw.
