Wouldn't it suck to play in advance and that advanced ticket doesn't hit in the next drawing but would have hit in the previous drawing? I'd buy tickets in advanced but I'd hate to see that happen to me.

I know what you mean. I don't know if the terminal would say 'April ##, 2002 - May 14, 2002 ONLY. MEGAMILLIONS STARTS MAY 15!!'. Probably alot of people played up to the middle of May just incase it kept flipping over, but didn't play any more 'advance draws' just incase those extra draws got void. Who knows.

If available, the last Big Game draw anyone can play for now is Tuesday, May 14-the last drawing under the current format.

Actually, many of those people who drove hours just to play in the BIGGAME played 'advance draws'too. Duh...why didn't I think of that before. I would never do the 1.5 hour drive one way just to play Powerball in one draw. Duh!! I hope most of those people played 5 to 10 weeks worth of draws. Now everything in the Universe makes sense to me. That would explain the bigger then expected increase in the jackpot.

Hmmm....I'll agree with reasons 1 and 2. But I think it would only go up to 10 million....11 million at the most. Not 12 million. Who knows.

1) Recent huge jackpot gave Big Game much publicity; 2) Many players who won smaller prizes in the $331 million draw decided to put money back into the game; 3) Knowing that the odds of winning will skyrocket next month, some are trying to hit now instead of later.

Wasn't last Tuesday game $7 mil? Doesn't the Biggame usually go 5, 7, 9, 11or 12, and then starts picking up speed. Never seen it jump 5 million from a pittiful 7 figure jackpot. :). I usually don't see it climb 5 mill until 25+ mill. I watch the drawing on www.theofficialbiggame.com and the voice said '12 million if no winner for tonights draw.' I wonder if he goofed and they are now stuck with a 12 mil jackpot.
