I expect Ohio and New York players to welcome Mega Millions with open arms. Both states' regular lottos have major flaws. My major beef with OH is that cash-option players are gypped. The OH cash value is _only_ 44% of the annuity amount, which CANNOT be explained solely by the extra four annuity payments (30 v 26.) As for NY, the Lotto 6/59 continues to pay an ANEMIC 40%, which is why a 3/6 match wins YOUR DOLLAR BACK.

You should contact the PA Lottery and ask them to replace Super-6 with Hot Lotto. Incidentally, your odds of 1 in 113 million are slightly inaccurate (1 in 40> million), as there are almost 120 MILLION combinations in a 6/69 matrix. As a side note, an extra reason why Hot Lotto for PA makes sense is that MUSL rules allow the cash/annuity choice to be made at time of ticket purchase. Super-6 players must still choose when they play.

On the Pennsylvania Lottery website, your odds of hitting 6/6 is posted as 1:39,959,158. The odds of hitting 6 of 6/69 is 1:119,877,472, but because you get 2 additional free quick picks that is divided by 3 which is 39,959,158 and your overall odds of winning something since they pay for 3 numbers is 1:48. Those odds are close to the odds in California Super Loto which is very popular. FYI the overall odds of getting something in Ohio 6/49 lottery is 1:451.Jack

Hi Everybody,Just to let you know, the REAL Odds for winning in the PA Super 6/69 numbers is 1 in 113,000,000, (yes, you read correctly)-- quite ridiculous indeed.Because of the astronomical odds, more and more money gets wasted as the weeks go by on this particular game by PA folks who don't think to try the better odds NJ 6/49 lotto (that is if they live across the border from NJ like I do) :-)I agree with the earlier writer who suggested we drop the Super 6 in favor of the Hot Lotto which wou... [ More ]

California lottery is 1:41million as well. No one's complaining about that. In fact, it's one of the best state lotteries out there.. very high jackpots and fast growth (no doubt because of the large population in CA).

The Super-6 game was created in 1998, long before PA was given permission to join a multi-state game. The jackpot odds are VERY long for a single-state game- 1 in nearly 40 million. This game was designed to build large jackpots, and, PA figured it would be hit less often if players could not choose all the numbers. This is the _only_ US jackpot game with automatic quick-picks. When PA joins Powerball this summer, it will no longer need Super-6 to build big jackpots. The right thing for PA would... [ More ]

wow what a stupid comment. so who cares if the super 6 gives you 2 bonus lines if you choose for yourself. most jackpot winners in any lottery game are quick pick winners anyways. why dump the super 6, the jackpot now is $21M (10.5 CASH) compared to 1.7M. i would think the super 6 sells better that the hot lotto.

I would LOVE to see Pennsylvania dump its Super-6 Lotto and sell this game instead. With Super-6 you CANNOT pick all your numbers (3 games for $1, but, two of every three games consist of AUTOMATIC quick picks ).
