This is just an update for anyone who might be interested in knowing, am I really protected from Viruses or any kind of glitches that dwell in side your computer. First off I want to thank the ones that helped me out alot. I thought I was well protected against problems. Sure my old Norton anti-virus 2001 stopped a couple of e-mails with viruses from destroying, eating, crashing or what ever. Yesterday, a friend who works with computer, gave me a free on line link that would scan all of your files. I ran this program last night and found 2 that Norton did not find. Both were low distructive type, but could have caused problems in the long run. You can run this program anytime but it will only find the virus after it is on your computer. Of course they also sell a product that I am going to look into. If anyone is interested, the page name is trend micro free online virus scan.

My personal recommendations:Firewall: ZoneAlarmVirus protection: Norton SystemWorks (includes AntiVirus + a ton of other useful utilities)If you buy install both of these, you can feel pretty safe on the Internet. Also, be sure to run the auto update features on both of these at least weekly.

Sorry I couldn't get back sooner. My Norton is 2001. I have been getting emails fron Norton to upgrade to their Pro, at least I think that is what it is. I just might have to do it. My live update runs out shortly so I either have to spend the money to suscribe to Live update or get an advanced Norton. This was to wpb, but question for MichiganHopeful, how can I find out the specks on Systemworks and the other stuff? Plus whats a personal firewall

I have Norton Antivirus 2003, Norton Personal Firewall, and Norton Systemworks 2003...I am well protected! I really recommend getting a Firewall and an updated Anti-Virus protector...there are so many viruses out there that you have to be protected.

Harry, I looked at the program to try to set it to scan the mail, but could not find that option. I may need to get a more updated virus software. I have Norton antivirus 2000.

wpb, Don't you have your virus protection set up so your email goes through it first before it gets to you? Mine is set up that way and it's great! I've been saved 4 times this year. Once from a friend's email that the virus went through his address book and sent them out without him knowing. Thats scarry.

I received an email from mswendra that contained a virus. The email contained 2 attachments named DataChunks.bat. If you get this email do not open it. I was lucky because I did not recognize the sender and ran my virus scan before I opened the mail. Why are people so mean
