Didn't buy any tickets or gas though (Connecticut has a better lottery; Danbury cheaper gasoline); only a soda.

It stores up to 2000 seven digit lottery file(Ohio649P has seven digits) and can store up to 300 picks. When I start the program, it load up chosen lottery file, analize it, displays data like sums, gaps, and numbers of time numbers in file have matched 1,2,3 and etc. I can look at that data, use it for my parameters or choose different parameters.

I started thinking about a number generator that uses your idea of number combos that haven't won a thing. I am curious as hell as to how many numbers there are that fit the criteria? The algorythm that sequences the numbers is the most difficult, because I don't see any easy way to sequence the numbers without duplicate numbers? 6/49 is still my favorite here in Maryland even if I do relent to the sirens call of the large jackpot games. Do you guys get 2 plays for a buck in Ohio on 6/49... [ More ]

To Bug,I seen that formula before. A year ago, when I also was trying to figure out the odds of winning, I put that and some other information in a GWBasic program which I just plug the combination size, the size of the number pool, if there is a bonus ball, the bonus ball and its pool size or if the bonus ball (as in Ohio649P) shares the same pool as the other numbers and it gives me my answer. I have checked that program against any information I've seen and it always with in 1 number.

Once all 52 bonus balls have been drawn there will be no combination that has not won a prize. Right now 13 bonus balls have not been drawn so any combination that has matched less than three and has one of those bonus ball have not won a prize. I just the only way to guarantee a prize is to play all 52 bonus ball. I did that with Powerball and I hope I do better.RJOh

The 5/5 + B should = 52 combos, suppose you had inside information on the first five numbers. You would play those numbers and each of the other 52 numbers for an outlay of 52 bucks. 4/5 + B == 235 combo. I have it as 4/5 + B = 48 combo since it matches 4 balls in the 52 state space and the B ball is matched, 52 - 4 = 48 ball combos that missed. We're looking at combos and not odds, which is confusing at first. Okay, I have a feeling this might be boring so I'll digress, so I spare everyone.... [ More ]

The 5/6 along with the other prize combos have me stumped, and it doesn't make for an exciting Christmas Eve.
