You have to report it as income when you file your taxes. Technically, if you find a quarter on the ground you need to report it.

Im with Todd. How can you be loosing??? Instead of cutting back on your odds with one or two numbers keep playing the multiples and bump up your weekly play allowance. If you ARE winning even ONCE a month your in the red.Take the $20 and double it each time you win. I just wanted to double-check your playing rate and wins:You said that you're spending $20 a week. That would be about $90 or so per month. If you got 2 wins - even boxes - per month, that would be at least $300 - $400 in wins per month. (At least in my home state of NJ.) You'd get a net win of $200 - $300 per month.I say keep doing what you're doing

I play the lottery weekly. I spend about $20 a week on 4-digit lottery games. I win maybe 2 times a month. I have come to the conclusion that I am losing way to much money.
