Two of the MUSL states (Kansas Nebraska) have a 2by2 with a top prize of $20,000. As 2by2 does NOT have a jackpot (no rollovers) it should have been a SINGLE-state game, with the other selling Hot Lotto.

smd:Sorry; I thought you were suggesting that a 4+1 game replace Super-6.TX-2S might be better than Hot Lotto, but, I think MUSL was on the right track with HL. Perhaps Hot Lotto should have been closer to the traditional lotto game, eg 6/47 (one draw machine) with a higher percentage in the jackpot pool. I also think Hot Lotto could have been Tuesday/Friday so it stood out from PB.IMO, the Texas Two-Step will be gone before Hot Lotto.

CASH,I thought we were comparing TX-2S to Hot Lotto?As far as replacing Super 6 with TX-2S, you'd be destroying Cash 5 (which is a perfectly fine game).I don't know what to replace Super 6 with any more. My guess is PA will cook up their own game.

smd:From what I hear, TX-2S is not a highly popular game. It certainly is superior to Super-6.Notice that one ball CAN win in TX-2S, but not in the new Lotto Texas.We can argue that a 4+1 game could replace Super-6, but PA is used to having simultaneous multi-million dollar jackpots (eg Wild Card Lotto Keystone Jackpot), so, I doubt you'll see a 4+1 game in PA.

CASH,As far as I can tell the game is pretty successful since jackpots start at $200K and have rolled over to $2.1 Million (all CASH) after 9 drawings (between 02/25/03 and 03/28/03).The overall odds of winning a prize in TX Two Step are double that of Hot Lotto (1 in 32 vs. 1 in 16.09), but the lower payouts are better and the jackpot odds are way better. CASH,I doubt Texas would join Hot Lotto even if they joined MUSL. Two Step has better odds, a jackpot prize that often grows close to the low end Hot Lotto prizes, and the low tier prizes pay better as well.

CASH,Well the TN Lottery has to be around for 6 months before they can join a multi-state organization. Then it's probably another 3-4 months after they are approved, before the tickets start (especially considering the slowness with which TN deals with their lottery). So we're looking at late 2004. Hot Lotto would be 2 1/2 years old by then. Depending on how sales go in DC may determine whether MUSL keeps the game.As far as TN joining MUSL or going with MM, that's really very interesting. Lottoscorp:NY Lotto changed from 6/54 to 6/51 ($1 per play) in March 1999. The 6/59, 2 plays/$1 began the NIGHT AFTER 9/11.And, yes, NY Lotto still requires you to choose WHEN you play, and still pays back an anemic 38-40%.

It can be argued thay HL's rollovers are too small (50k). However, there are nine ways to win (same as Powerball); on average almost half the prize money is paid below the jackpot. Overall odds 1:16; matching only the Hot Ball wins $2.
