Assuming Ohio is about to replace its Lotto, they would be wise to avoid automatic quick-picks altogether (the Kicker is automatically quick-picked on all Lotto tickets in the current game, even if you don't pay the extra dollar).

MESAW:The Ohio Lottery is the only one with a gimmick like that. I don't like the idea of having to play a certain game (Ohio 6/49) in order to be allowed to buy a chance for an unrelated game (Kicker). Several other US lotteries have offered them; fortunately they've seen the light. The multiplier option would make much more sense because it is directly TIED to the game; you would win 2x to 5x the prize, just as in Powerball/PowerPlay.I would go for the 6/46 game with the MULTIPLIER. I think the... [ More ]

i think one problem with the ohio lottery is that they got greedy with the kicker option. if you don't want to buy it they still put the # on the ticket. so you almost have to buy it or risk the chance of not winning if something hits on it. they just try to get every last dollar they can. i say drop it plus a couple balls out. i think that would boost up there sales a little bit.

RJ:If the Ohio Lottery likes/liked the KICKER game so much, maybe Ohio could have made KICKER an option with _any_ Ohio online game (except perhaps Mega Millions since it's a multi-state game), and drawing it six nights a week.No sense promoting KICKER now if there's a good chance Ohio is dropping it.

It's been almost a year since Ohio began selling tickets for Mega Millions. Not surprisingly, Ohio Lotto 6/49 has taken a major hit.The Ohio Lottery website is soliciting comments on whether to replace the current Lotto game. There are four proposals; two include retaining the Kicker , while the other two would replace Kicker with a multiplier option familiar to those who play Powerball/PowerPlay.
