The NY Lottery in effect is testing a 4+1 concept, which is the format of Texas Two-Step and Florida's Mega Money . I can't see Take Five eliminated (there's even a Take Five SCRATCH game whose prizes include free plays for the regular Take Five) although perhaps NY could try a 4+1 game along with Take Five (FL and TX each have a pick-5 in addition to their 4+1 games.)Take Five started in 1992 as a Friday-only game; it's now seven days a week.

MM:Could the NY attorney general investigate the questionable practices of the NY Lottery? It may not be illegal, but I certainly think it's UNETHICAL (of course, you can argue that playing the lottery is unethical as well.)I bet our AG will be running for governor in 2006.

Todd:I _always_ read the fine print for anything that has to do with lotteries.I also agree with you about the skill ...lotteries are supposed to be based on PURE LUCK.Canadians (including those who read our messages) have to deal with skill testing questions to win contests (not lotteries), which almost always consist of multi-part math problems.

The contest also doesn't seem very fair - it requires some good athletic ability to win, since the contestants have to compete. I would think that the NY Lottery would pick something that was a little more like a lottery and less like a competition.

Cash Have you checked out the $1,000,000 Megathrow sweepstakes NY is running till the 30 of May? You have to send in a losing Mega Million ticket with a special form which you can download or get at your sellers location to be eligible. Looks like some of the stuff they do in California.
