IIRC, it was the Nevada casinos that pushed to have winners choose cash/annuity after they win.

H, TC:I consider it corruption when a (state) lottery buys an annuity for a lottery winner WITHOUT giving the ticket holder an opportunity to collect the cash value in lump sum (in lieu of the annuity).

Given the fact that corporate corruption at the top of the ladder is running more rampant than even the 80's, and the government is sworn to give them whatever they need to eliminate the middle class in the U.S. of A. (They'd like nothing more than to make us a third world workforce... Shipping ALL the jobs to mexico, india, pakistan... and then bringing in cheap labor via the H1-B visa)... It's hard not to be tempted by the idea of winning one million dollars -unless, perhaps, the fine print reads $50,000 a year for 20 years .
