This will be very interesting to watch. My guess is that Texas will NOT get both games: they will only get Mega Millions. The reason is that it would require MUSL to come to terms and communicate with the Mega Millions Group (and vice-versa). Way too many egos in the way. I could be wrong, but that's my prediction.

We need to abolish both MM and PB in favor of a national federally sponsored lottery that could be used for big public works projects like building a 100-foot-tall wall between the U.S. and Mexico! It could be a 5-60 format with a 1-60 powerball. Maybe two powerballs . . . It would generate half billion dollar jackpots. For an extra sweetener, all winnings could be income tax free like they do in Norway. Orangeman

It's just a matter of when. I would have thought 10 years from now...but then again the BIG states like CA, TX, FL, and PA had been holding out for awhile.

Todd, et al:Having Texas play both multistate games makes perfect sense. We would have the best and worst of all possible worlds. Rebeckah is right on concerning the Texas Lotto Commission. Their mandate is to increase state revenue. If one multistate game is good, then two could be better! Double the games and double the greed. It will be a boon for the retailers, too. They don't care how hard their clerks have to work when the lotto is over $20 million. Guess how much business 7-11, To... [ More ]

Rebeckah,I agree with you, the Texas Lottery Commission does not listen to its players. If you read through the articles, they say about how they're listening on the multi-state game issue. That shows how FAKE they are. They absolutely DON'T listen to the players on that decision, because frankly most players wouldn't know or understand the economics behind which multi-state game to choose.Where they have gone BAD is adding a bonus ball to their game. What a mistake! When they go with MM or... [ More ]
