You can look at it this way also.buy ten tickets and win the jackpot and want to split the money with other people you need not file a trust or whatever. They cash in their own ticket(s) and choose their own method of payment.Having ten tickets with same number and win a lower tier prize your winnings are increased ten fold.

If I bought 10 tickets in SC, all with the same number sets, and won,and there was ten other winners in 10 different states, I would get 1/2 of the jackpot. The tickets are bearer instruments.

Maybe I'm missing something but unless you get a match 5, your take home is not any more because you bought 10 tickets with the exact same numbers.Even if you are trying to ward off the other multiple winners, that would be near impossible, since multiple winners usually come from multiple states. What are you going to do? Go to all 27 Powerball jurisdictions and buy 10 tickets with the same number?Your cause is noble, but I think the logic is just a bit off base.

it may sound greedy but as far as it concerns me, it is not.i cannot control what the others winners who i would split the jackpot do with their share, but i do know what i would do with the $$$$$. and it would be put to it's intended use. other people, not just ME !!!!!!i made the road trip to south carolina to buy 10 advance draws but i could not afford to do the 9 duplicate ticket thang . so until those 10 draws end, if i won i would have to share. i suppose i could live on $38 million (ap... [ More ]

V-Dude may be on to something. When the jackpot gets really large V-Dude buys 10 tickets with the same number set. It makes sense if you think about it. The increase in your odds between buying one ticket and buying 10 tickets is insignificant. However, the odds of sharing the jackpot increases when the jackpot gets very large. So if you do win you get a much bigger share of the jackpot. (of course, everyone would be mad and call you greedy, but who cares, you're rich
