5/39 might be the most common US lottery matrix-it's also the upper set of numbers in Hot Lotto (19 hot balls).

I don't think the 5/39 should be lumped in there. In Texas anyway all the above matrixes would have JPs of at least 1 million. Our now dead 4/99 game started at 1 mil too. The 5/39 which became 5/37 JPs are around 50K.... I believe this would classify it as a pick 5 game. Which is different than how a *lottery* game is usually defined as having JPs in the millions. Not trying to be a weenie, just looking for consistancy in terms to avoid confusion.

It really doesn't matter the matrix size because the prize amounts are adjusted accordingly. It allow depends on the amount you are willing to risk for a certain size prize. Some people like the pick3, but I'm not interested in a jackpot of $500.RJOh

JimmySand:c4l's biggest problem was the top prize ($1000/wk for life); no cash option was available (same with the WA game.)Hot Lotto is not going away. North Dakota is joining it next year; there are other lotteries that could join (Maine, ie, is a possibility since it soon will re-join MUSL).
