Actually, The Hollywood, FL couple who claimed half of that $80 million Florida Lotto jackpot chose annuity. Ironically, one of the rare times someone claimed a large jackpot prize for annuity in Florida was on Cash Only's birthday.

RJ:Elderly people get certain privileges (reduced bus fares, senior citizen discounts, an extra tax deduction, etc.)I was wondering if anybody thought lotteries should allow older players to collect in lump sum, but still require annuity payments to younger winners, in certain game(s).

If the rules for the winners should be changed based on age, why not consider religion, marital situations, annual income and etc. After all why should people who plan to give most of their winnings to their church have to pay taxes. Why should a single winners be treated the same as a married winner with a spouse and kids to feed.
