well im not counting on winning and i've never wheeled before. so you think covering more powerballs is best?the odds for 3 pbs is like 1:14 and for 4 is 1:10.5of course matching the white balls have really terrible odds but thats a different story. thats why i only play when the jackpot gets up there i have to have something to limit my spending and there is no point in playing for a small amount since i have to drive more than 300 miles for tickets.thanks hypersonig and good luck if you are pl... [ More ]

If your looking at odds then the best way to lower it for the least amount of dollars is probably playing all the powerballs. I think you looking at something like 1 in a little less than 3 million to match the remaining 5 white balls. Cheap considering how many numbers you eliminate. You get some money back too for matching the Powerball. FWIW if I was going to wager that much it would be off some powerball scheme to lower the odds. Good luck.

well about 200 when (and if) it gets big enough for me to play. i have to drive like 350 miles round trip to go to oregon. so i was thinking of spending the money like this:3 powerball numbers at 67 bucks each or4 powerball numbers at 50 bucks each.its about the same either way but if im right on the powerball number then my odds are better since i have 67 sets of white combo's. the 4 ball set would increase the odds of having the right powerball number though. thanks for answering.

How much are you planning on spending?you could arrange all 53 white balls within 11 lines, and either repeat those 11 lines with a few powerballs... or vary the 11 lines with each powerball...I would go with more PB's, odds for that are only 1:42

i was wondering what you think is a better powerball strategy - i had planned on having 3-4 powerballs and about 40-50 whiteball combo's per powerball but i cant make up my mind if its better to play more powerballs (4) with fewer whiteball combo's or 3 powerballs with more white ball combo's. thanks for any help.
