i still think texas would be better off pushing for 53 white balls in mega instead of a multiplier. sales in multipliers is always very low and falls fast after introduction. i think the take will be very small even 3 months after introduction since most people can figure out that it doesnt multiply the jackpot and thats what they are buying the ticket for in the first place.

Well it will still be a $1 game with a $1 options. That story I saw on PBS the other night about Texas schools must be true if they expect most of the people to fall for that.RJOh

The whole reason TX is starting MM with a multiplier is because of the research that came out regarding PB and PP. If a state begins a jackpot game and then later adds on an extra multiplier, customers think of the game as a $1 game with an option. However, if, as in SC, the jackpot game begins WITH the multiplier in place, customers automatically think of it as a $2 game. TX knows that by starting with multiplier, their take will be larger than if it added it later.It's all about the $$$$.... [ More ]

It's not like the Texas players are getting something for nothing. Among the Powerball winners, less than 10% include powerplay, must be that 90% of the players rather spent their extra dollar$ for extra chances.RJOh

i think its irrelevant if they steal powerball's idea on that. i never play a multiplier for smaller prizes because im not playing for the smaller prizes another dollar is another chance at the jackpot as far as i'm concerned.
