It seems to me that tiago182 is right an operating system is just trash dead weight it just gets in the way and also slows down your programs and makes it less accurate. It is garbage because it is general purpose and it hogs the computer resources it would be best to either have the program work straight with the processor with just the needed minimum built in operating system to interface the program to the processor or to use an operating system more suited for running the program other than

Hi All!Guru I have an ideia that could speed up your way to find the winning numbers without 60 pcs (maybe).If you have a spare computador with alot of ram (1256MB is sufficient I think) , take windows out, and install only DOS 6.2 and create a ram drive with...lets say 1GB...so that way you are using only ram and you will have the whole COMPUTER RESOURCES being used by your prog wich will be MUCH MUCH MUCH FASTER...the only thing you need is your program do be able to run in DOS MODE. Excalibur :Your computer will do just fine. Although I must admit that those with a faster cpu will have a better chance. It needs no more than about 7 meg of harddisk space, and there should be no conflicts with other programs.

If you felt like killing time, you could watch SETI@Home do it's thing... I don't like it when the automatic update program runs on my computer and slow me down let alone some lottery program that might take days to come up with some results. It takes the lottery all of 30 secs. to pick and post their random results and it shouldn't take a computer IMHO more than 15 mins. to pick some numbers that are no more likely to win than those of a RNG. Hypersoniq:There are no minimum system reqs. The faster your computer is, the more chance you have that it'll be your computer that finds the solution. It will use your CPU for 100% if it is possible. When it is disturbing your other work on the computer too much, you can always lower its priority in the task manager.
