I like big jackpots and if MM does get to $300-400 million, it would be exciting. I'd be planning to buy an island in the South Pacific next to Marlon Brando's. But I like to see winners, and if someone is winning $10 million a week, that's okay with me. I don't want to see odds changed to make it harder to win, it's already way too hard as it is. depends on the odds fja. when it was the washington state lottery i'd be happy at 5 million but it was a 6/44 game then. I played (and lost) in the oregon state lottery when it was at 20 million and its a 6/48 game. when quinto hits around 1.6 million (a pick 5/52 cash all at once) i play but the odds are only 1:2.5 mil.big games like powerball/ mega have terrible odds. thats a fact. and to have big prizes they need those odds otherwise i'd ONLY play quinto since 1.6-2.2 million would really cha... I've said this before, but here goes: Why in God's name does anyone think MM needs to produce larger jackpots? How much is enough? Why would anyone be on the side of the state collecting millions of dollars week after week with no winner? Do you buy a ticket with a dream of winning? OH NO! NO! NO!I'm a system player I track statistics of the game. If they change the format all my present data will become useless I'd have to start all over AGAIN. I've done 3 different lotteries in the past 5 years cuz Texas keept changing it's pick-6 game. grrrrr. I feel like I've spent more time redoing my spreadsheets instead of predicting #s. Yes, I'm one of those *dreaded* MegaMillions players joining from Texas, please don't hate me for it.

Increasing the number of white balls, but DECREASING the number of Mega balls makes sense, because it creates a better chance of winning any prize while making larger jackpots possible.

lol todd if only oregon didnt have income tax.twisted - that doesnt make sense - most lotteries including both mega and powerball have multiple machines in case one fails for some reason.

I dont agree. If you look at the results after each drawning, there is almost always atleast 1 or 2 players who matched the 5 white numbers. And as the pot increases and you get to levels where the jackpot is around $40 million, more people seem to be able to match all the white balls. So decreasing the amount of mega balls will, in my opinion, increase the chances of people winning the jackpot at a lower level. What I think they need to change is the drawing machine.

It occurred to me that the main difference between powerball and mega is the number of white balls. So i think they should increase the number of white balls while decreasing the number of mega balls.If they added 5 white balls but took out 8 mega balls it would be a game far more likely to produce large jackpots.
