Seems to me 69 numbers was too much for Super-6...yet nobody complains that Keno usually has 80.

And Quick Draw is video, and Pick 10 is a ticketed game. My point was that the game being played is the same game - Keno, with 20 numbers drawn from 80. In Pick 10, the payout percentage is 45.10%. In the 10 Spot Quick Draw the payout percentage is 60.16%. Perhaps NY figures the people in bars and lounges will more than make up the difference in what the state will collect in taxes on alcohol.gl

littleoldlady -You are correct, in a way. In the situation you specify, the 10 winning tickets will pay out $100,000 each. And that limitation is not unique to KY Cash Ball, as most states with straight cash payout games (as opposed to jackpots or pari-mutuel games) do have aggregate limits on the top prize payouts when there are multiple winners and the total payouts would greatly exceed anticipated sales.gl

megamillionaire, CASH Only -NY 6/59 payouts are pari-mutuel only. As stated earlier, payout percentage is listed at 40% of sales, less 2% taken out for a reserve fund.NY Pick 10 payout percentage is 45.10%, but here's an anomaly for you. In Quick Draw 10 Spot - same game - the payout percentage is 60.16%. Quick Draw offers around 60% payout percentage in all games except for the 1 Spot.gl

Ky cashball DOES have a maximum amount..it pays out 1,000,000...period. If you have 10 tickets with all 5 numbers picked correctly, 5 of your tickets will NOT win...I do not know if the smaller prizes are included but it says the maximum liability per top prize is 1,000,000.

Cash Only -You are correct, but I wasn't implying KY was the only state offering a 60% payout percentage on Pick 3 and Pick 4 games. IA, KS, KY and MO offer a 60% payout percentage on these games as offered. So does OR, except for the 4/4 straight payout. NJ offers a 55% payout percentage.gl

I believe Missouri pays 60% on pick-4 as well as pick-3.

I can understand why, what with the larger payouts of PowerBall and Lotto South. The $200,000 top prize is set - no rollover, but also no maximum on the number of winners. Then, the payout percentage on the KY Pick 3 is 60%. The KY Pick 4 payout percentage, however, is the usual standard 48%-50%.

The worse game to me is Kentucky cashball. It is a cash 5 game set up like powerball. The odds are like 3,000,000 to win all 5, however my beef is the jackpot never rolls over....it just stays on 200,000.00...period. I wonder how much money they have made from running the cash 5 like this..the only redeeming feature this has is that the pay out for 3 numbers is $25.00.

A couple of months ago the Powerball Website was talking about a $2 dollar ticket through a survey they had. And it would raise the minimum jackpots to 20 million to start out I wonder if they abandoned that idea

When ever Ohio has changed its on-line lottery games in the past, it has been to make them harder and pay less, another such change and they will attract fewer players. Adding MegaMillions bought in extra players and I don't look for them to change much unless the adjacent states make some major changes to their games. They did a survey earlier this year to see what changes the players would like to see and I doubt if any one suggested worst odds and smaller payouts. They are trying $10 and $2... [ More ]

My least favorite lottery games are among the ones I play, because I haven't won a major prize. I suspect that is how most feel, because they never hear about the losers of games they don't play, but only about the big winners.RJOh

I think that my states game megabucks from Oregon happens to be the worse game. It jackpots rollover at an average of $200,000 a drawing and it can take numerous drawings to get to a nice size jacpot. The last jackpot that was won in our state took 6 to 7 months to get to its size of 21.7 million. It frustrating that we don't have bigger jackpots faster but I guess that's why Oregon has powerball

The problem with figuring payout percentages for most lotteries, good or bad, is that most games have variable jackpots. Other games are pari-mutuel, where the player assumes all the risk. I noticed that when I created my web page with those percentages. Given that, of the lotteries I have on my list, the Delaware Lotto game, based on the jackpot starting value, only pays out about 19.27%.

Of the games I listed, only Super-6 has a good chance IMO of being retired or corrected soon.
