An international lottery will never fly with the US because of the differing currencies and exchange rates. Assuming one would be proposed with the US, EU, and other major economic powers (Japan, Australia, etc.), how would you determine how much a ticket would cost and what prizes would be paid out in each country?For example, if the ticket cost is based on the US$ (or any other single currency for that matter), every other country would have to adjust their ticket cost on a daily basis to keep... If the politicians here can't control it the US wont be a part of it. Besides that I believe there's a law banning US citizens from participating in foreign lotteries. I remember before we got lotteries I used to play the Irish Sweepstakes even though it was illegal to play here.

My choice is 2006 or later because of how slow it takes the states to adjust to powerball and mega million games. It probably has a lot of red tape to get through to get the game going.

International game in US?

There has been an effort to introduce a lottery game that would involve many US lotteries as well as other countries. MUSL is involved in the planning of such a game (which is why California is a MUSL member, even though they don't sell PB.)I haven't heard much lately of the proposed game. I heard anti-US sentiment has something to do with the game stalling.
