He only did half the computation. If the order in which the balls were drawn mattered, then he would be correct. But order doesn't matter. 01 02 03 04 05 06 is the same as 06 05 04 03 02 01. To get the right odds you have to find out the number of combinations for any given set of six numbers drawn and then divide that into the final number he came up with. Any given set of winning numbers has 720 combinations if order was taken into account. 6 X 5 X 4 X 3 X 2 X 1 = 720. So you take his number 1... [ More ]

This guy also has an odds page for calculating pick 3 and pick 4 lotteries. Says the odds for pick 4 are 1 Million to one.Too bad there is no e-mail address listed.What a dope.

Divide his final calculations by 720 (1x2x3x4x5x6) - the number of permutations of 6 numbers - and his figures are right on the money.
