This chart was created or updated from the original version which only included the sums and not the roots.  When using this chart, make sure that if you are playing using the sums (not the roots) you use the left column of the chart, with the header of  Sum. These are just different ways to group numbers together.What the PICK 3 Fairy mentioned divides the the 1000 possible combinations into equal 100 (boxed 220) numbers per root sum. The advantage is that each of the ten root sum 9 (0-9) consists of the same amount of numbers (100).The other version you mentioned divides the 1000 combinations into  9 root sums (1-9) with 111 number each and the root sum 0 with only one number (000).Both ways are used.
