maine's lottery has taken a hit because players are going to new hampshire to play powerball. maine just wants to keep some of its players (and money) in maine. it's the same reason why PA joined powerball. also, it will boost lottery profits.

i doubt a national lottery would exist. there are a few states that are against it. there could be a merge between powerball and mega millions within the coming years though.

granted maine will have an impact on the game for it's first month or so, but from what it seems like, not too many people play the lottery there. i would think they would rather save their money.

Maine will not have that big an impact on the game. It's too underpopulated and not too wealthy in terms of the citizens.

Put me down for a year, taking median value. Give or take , etc.Question: What state has had the most winners. Of course some have been in longer than others; so how about unit frequencey : Total Number of top jackpot winners divided by months( or years) having the game. Keep in mind, at least two states that I know of, that border Tennessee, which will probably pump a lot of cash into Tennessee. Alabama Mississippi. Both being (I think) the two poorest states in the U.S. And just because people cant afford to play, doesn't mean they wont. They still dream the dream. I'll be chippin' in on some Tennessean's education.

when you vote, remember to take into account the fact that PA had a jackpot winner within 3 months of joining the game, SC had a jackpot winner about 7 months after joining, but it also took SD 12 years before they sold a jackpot winner, and CO has been in the game for over 2.5 years, and stil hasn't had a jackpot winner. You should also take into account that the USVI has not had a ticket win $5K or $100K yet (I think. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.).
