I used to be a serious horse player some years ago. Then I worked with the ponies for about ten years and the allure faded. There's just too much that goes on behind the scenes that you can't account for with a racing form and handicaping skills. I went to the Indiana Downs OTB in Clarksville a few weeks ago. It was a very nice place, but it was soooooo BORING. I stayed for a few races and then left. I guess the live atmosphere of the racetrack adds more to the betting experience than I realized... [ More ]

Hello, Everybody,Personally, I think the Derby is up for grabs, and I do agree with Rick inasfaras the payoffs are concerned. It is almost guaranteed to be a nice payoff. Anytime you have very large field of extremely contentious and well-bred horses such as these you can almost always look to get paid. I will be looking to play the longshots.paymenow

Brdman, I haven't been following the run-up to the derby so I don't have a clue yet...plus it's pretty much of a crap shoot with that many entries and 2 gates. But I love watching it
