I am going to work on that race the 15th of May. This weekend I am going to the dog races. See what I can do there!!!! If Smarty Jones is in that race on the 15th. I will put a couple bucks on him!!!! It looks like you do good with your bets.

Grammy, isn't that the way it works with us all? I can't tell you how many times I've changed a bet only to find my original pick come in.But it was still a good call....now we have Pimlico to look at. I'm going to start working on that today.Good work at DE Park the other day...sounds like you know your ponies.

I used to be a serious horse player some years ago. Then I worked with the ponies for about ten years and the allure faded. There's just too much that goes on behind the scenes that you can't account for with a racing form and handicaping skills. I went to the Indiana Downs OTB in Clarksville a few weeks ago. It was a very nice place, but it was soooooo BORING. I stayed for a few races and then left. I guess the live atmosphere of the racetrack adds more to the betting experience than I realized... Hello, Everybody,Personally, I think the Derby is up for grabs, and I do agree with Rick inasfaras the payoffs are concerned. It is almost guaranteed to be a nice payoff. Anytime you have very large field of extremely contentious and well-bred horses such as these you can almost always look to get paid. I will be looking to play the longshots.paymenow

Brdman and Grammy...I'm working with the brand new Churchill meet to come up with my exacta/quinella picks for the Derby.. I'll post them in this thread Sat. morning. Not much history to work with but we'll see what happens. The good thing about the Derby is that you're guaranteed a decent payoff on the exactas. See ya'll on Sat.

Brdman, I haven't been following the run-up to the derby so I don't have a clue yet...plus it's pretty much of a crap shoot with that many entries and 2 gates. But I love watching it
