I remember once the night after a Mega Millions drawing, someone who had bought 100 tickets for that drawing was checking them at a terminal in Illinois, and only the last two of his tickets won anything - one matched 3/0 for $7, and the other matched 2/1 for $10.

If I had the opportunity to buy $300 dollars worth of Powerball lottery I would go to the lottery retailer you prefer and go early in the morning or late at night before the drawing. You could get 60-5 dollar tickets without powerplay or 30-10 dollar tickets with powerplay. Your not going to hit the jackpot on every ticket so powerplay option will maximize your prizes that don't get all six numbers. If I was going to buy $300.00 worth of tickets, I would pick my own numbers and make sure I didn't repeat any combination of 5 that had won or try to avoid repeating any combinations of fours within the group. That's just me, I read of several people who won the jackpot by just buying $5-$100 worth of tickets at one terminal. RJOh
