there are too many places to check...Internet (lottery websites for the states and right here at the LP), newspaper, T.V. (news and actual drawings... not around for a draw? TiVO !), retailer...I never discard tickets until I check them at the websites (PA lottery at http://www.palottery.com and Powerball at http://www.powerball.com ) AND at the retailer. I also watch the PB drawings on their website (and on TiVO when I can't be there to watch live).

Years ago KRCG channel 13 here in MO often puts the wrong numbers up during their broadcast. At least 2 or 3 times a month. On two separate occasions I wrote them about it asking them if they were as shoddy with their news stories as they were with other segments of their show. (explaining it all to them). I never got a reply and I stopped relying on that channel for lottery numbers so I no longer know if they do that or not...It did teach me a lesson about making sure I check my tickets at loc... [ More ]

Once again South Florida WFOR TV News channel 4 (the official channel of the Florida lottery ;-) messed up a lottery drawing. The live video tape of the draw at 7:57pm was correct showing the Pick-4 draw for Thursday 05/20/2004 to be 8-9-7-9.The 11:00 pm news put the Pick-3/4 numbers up on screen and read them off as 8-7-7-9.I can only imagine how many people ripped up perfectly good tickets and how many will go to the store tomorrow thinking themselves a winner. Two weeks ago the same station r... [ More ]
