I have data on different worksheets because I wanted to be able to find what I need easier. I don't know how to do much of anything in excel but I'm trying to learn. I just wanted to keep track of the draws and see if there were some correlation between what has fallen and what is falling.

LottaLootWell, couple of questions and good response. However, if you care to bear with me I'm still intrigued. Why do you have data on three different woksheets - can't fit it all in the one worksheet or just for display purposes? Is position important - ie do you distinguish between a 3 that occurred in the 1st position from one that occurred in the 2nd or 3rd position. For all his faults occasionally I saw little glimpses from Goose which led me to believe that he was not a complete fool - if... [ More ]

Your welcomeIf you are going to enter the numbers like I have them. If you are going to put each digit in one cell and space the three digit number with one cell. If you do this read the auto fill instructions. Like you can do a couple zeros in two vertical cell and auto fill the rest of the way down vertically.

When I look for a pattern I list the 1000 combinations like I will paste below.You will have your front pair exact vertically, your back pair exact horizontally, Your split pair exact will be spaced down each column.This makes it easier for me to see the exacts on how many times drawn together and dated.They may be a bit out of alignment but you see the idea.*000 100 200 300 400 500 600 700 800 900*001 101 201 301 401 501 601 701 801 901*002 102 202 302 402 502 602 702 802 902*003 103 203... [ More ]

I imagine a macro is the best solution; but I've never attempted to write one for Excel, and the help system that comes with Excel is so abysmally unhelpful -- and I was very tired when I need it, and not about to dive back into Visual Basic -- so, I just wrote a very long conditional. This compares a box ticket ($Y7) with an actual Pick-3 draw (AA7) and types BOX if it hits.=IF(AA7=$Y7, BOX ,IF(LEFT(TEXT($Y7, 000 ),1) RIGHT(TEXT($Y7, 000 ),1) MID(TEXT($Y7, 000 ),2,1)=TEXT(AA7, 000 ), BOX ,IF... [ More ]

I am placing all combinations of the 3 digits into excel and tracking them as they fall to try and determine any patterns that may be occuring. Last night 648 fell...which means I have to type in 468 486 648 684 846 864 in each order to find numbers that can fall 6 ways. Therefore, I am wondering if anyone has a better way

LottaLootAs you probably know I use Access and on first impression this is probably a good advertisement for having at least some of your data in a database.I'm intrigued by what your doing so if you care to give some further information I'll see if I can help (if necessary duplicating what your doing in Excell to see if there are better ways).1 What do you have in each worksheet?2 Give me an example of what you type 6 ways.RegardsColin

Does anyone know of a better way that I can get excel to search and find 3 digits results (in any order) within several worksheets at a time? Currently, I have to literally type in the number 6 different ways (in each worksheet) in order to find what I'm looking for and I'm sure that it must be a faster way to obtain this information All suggestions appreciated
